Sequence is an early-stage startup building the next generation of video post-production tools for creators. This full time role on the founding product team will be pivotal to bring a truly radical & unique video editor to market.
In particular, Tech Lead - Founding Team, is a hybrid position requiring hands-on full-stack technical expertise, as well as leadership skills to oversee and grow a high-performing group of engineers. You won’t just be part of the team, you’ll be shaping our future vision through both building and leading. This is a great opportunity for a technical lead that would be excited to get back into writing software.
This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits and equity. The position starts immediately.
Responsibilities:
As the technical lead, you will both be responsible for the Sequence technology platform and oversee the company’s engineering team. You will be:
- Creative problem solving technical challenges for a distributed multi-media platform.
- Working with the CEO on transforming product requirements into production ready architecture and technical roadmap items for the team.
- Independently contributing on building applications & designing platform architecture.
- Collaborating with other team members to identify and fix technical problems
- Analyzing users' needs and find applications to serve them
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
- Motivating team and creating a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns.
- Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible.
Requirements:
- Be able to work across the full stack of technologies from front-end to back-end, from cloud provider to browser nuances. You are able to realize the product vision across the range of technologies necessary to implement it.
- Expertise in the one of the following: C/C+/Rust or other systems level language.
- Expertise in JavaScript or TypeScript as well as overall web architecture.
- Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in managing a distributed team of engineers with strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
